Like Abraham And Sarah We, Too, Have Tried To Shape GodÕs Promises To Suit Our Own Understanding. Let Us Confess The Unfaithful State Of Our Lives To God.

God Of Abraham And Sarah, We Come Before You To Confess That We Have Not Patiently Awaited The Fulfillment Of Your Promises. Instead Of Taking Time For Prayer And Meditation, We Have Rushed Ahead With Projects And Plans That Were Ill Advised. Thinking We Were Pursuing Your Goals, We Have Substituted Our Own And We Have Met With Disastrous Ends. We Have Ended Up In Debt, With Half-Completed Projects And With People Being Hurt. Help Us To Learn To Wait Upon You Even When It Seems That The Time Is Past Or That All Hope Is Gone. Amen.
