Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and

Leader: Come and follow
Jesus. The gift of God is abundant
life.
All: We
will follow Jesus.
* PROCESIONAL HYMN #447 Lead

Lancashire
CALL TO CONFESSION
The God who created us and who knows us better than we know ourselves
invites us to look at ourselves and be honest about who we have become. Let us confess the state of our lives
to God and before one another.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
We
confess to you, O loving Creator God,that we have not lived in the truth that
Jesus told us. We have not chosen
your reign before our selfish concerns.
We have not become servants of others. We have not sought to lose our lives in you but rather we
have clung to the trappings of mortal existence. We have called Jesus our Lord but we have placed all manner
of people and things ahead of our service to his reign of love and grace. Forgive us, and by the power of your
Holy Spirit so fill us with your love and power that we will resist the call of
earthly things and seek instead that which is eternal. Amen.
Leader: Friends,
believe the good news of the gospel.
All: In
Christ Jesus, we are forgiven!

WELCOME VISITORS: In the name of Jesus Christ, we welcome you to

presence today.
The installation service
for Reverend Larry Turner as Senior Pastor of Grace Presbyterian will be Sunday,
February 24, 2008 at 3:00 pm. The
congregation and the community are invited to attend the reception following
the service.
First Presbyterian ChurchÕs
Soup Kitchen` is asking us
to collect items for hygiene kits.
In February, they are asking for soap and wash cloths. There will be a
box in the Narthex for these items.
The Congregational Life
Committee will be
sponsoring game night Friday, February 29, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Bring snacks, chips or desserts. You
may also bring your favorite game (optional). Come and join in the fun and fellowship – reservations
are not required. If you are not able to drive at night
and want to attend, call 386-6779 and arrangements will be made to provide
transportation.
The Grace Presbyterian Spring
Auction now has 3 donated
handmade items that will be available for auction at the church on Sunday, May
4, 2008. All proceeds will be
donated to the church through the Presbyterian Women. A maximum of 20 items will be accepted for this
auction. March 30, 2008 will be
the last date that an auction item may be donated for this yearsÕ auction. Please see the hall posted for details about
the auction and who to contact if you have any questions. This is a wonderful opportunity to
financially support our church, to purchase beautiful handmade items and to
enjoy socializing with your church family during the auction. Hopefully, this is only the beginning
and it will become an annual event.
Due to the recent theft of
the Financial Office Computer from
its temporary location in the old session room, the Property Committee has
decided to begin locking this room when it is not occupied. Any equipment or materials that are
used by you or your church group and are being stored in this room should be
relocated to another area in the building. This situation is temporary and will end when the new
offices are completed.
The Session respectfully
requests that any articles
submitted to the newsletter be limited to those that relate directly to the
programs or activities of the congregation. We appreciate your cooperation—this will be most
helpful in getting the newsletter to you in a more timely manner.
THE
MIHN GUEST WILL ARRIVE ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH.
Watch for the signup sheet in the hallway. A supply list is posted in the kitchen. For more
information, contact Dana Jackson at 377-9374.
We still need a few more
volunteers to help serve at
the First Presbyterian Soup Kitchen on March 02, 2008. If you can spare a few moments of your
time, we would appreciate it if you would sign up on the sheet posted on the
Moore Bulletin Board. Thank You!!!
You are invited to be a
loving presence to hospice patients
by volunteering with Crossroads Hospice.
The dates for their volunteer training are Thursday, February 28th
and Saturday, March 1st.
If you are interested in touching lives in this way, please call Eryn
Bennet, Volunteer Coordinator, Crossroads Hospice at 382-9292.
Day Trippers will go to
Reelfoot Lake to see the
eagles on Tuesday, February 26.
Driving time to Reelfoot is over two hours from the church, so we must
leave promptly at 7:45 am. Upon
arriving at Reelfoot, we will board a bus at 10:00 am to enjoy a ranger guided
two hour bus tour of the eagle sites. Admission for the bus tour will be $5.00
each. We will be having lunch at
one of the nearby restaurants after the guided tour. Reservations are required for the bus at Reelfoot and
seating on the church van – please call Byron or Diane at 386-6779 for
reservations.
Just a reminder, the
Commitment Committee meets
on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in room 101B.
Circle #3 will meet Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10:00 am at
the church and go to lunch after the Bible Study.
